What is pickleball?

This sport is easy to learn and is fun for all ages. It can be played as a recreational activity or, for those who want the opportunity, can also be geared towards more competitive play. It is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. It is a simple paddle game played using a special perforated, slow moving ball (known as a wiffle ball) over a tennis type net on a badminton sized court. Simple rules are available on this website.

Although pickleball is relatively new to Ottawa, its growth has been phenomenal. This year will see the Ottawa Pickleball Association become a non-profit corporation. More information will be posted on this as it becomes available. The representative for pickleball in Ottawa, our ambassador, is Mike David.
